With the corid treatment on the lambs every 25 days, do you find that you should give a probiotic along with the treatment? We've always felt that the corid was pretty hard on their guts, and have been advised to give a gel probiotic when treating. Also, it seems like an awful large amount of liquid corid to give to a lamb at one time - I've never given a 130# show lamb 13 cc of corid! Of course, maybe I should be - please let me know what you think?
Also, on another topic we've got two of our county fair lambs (both are 110# currently) on about 4# of Show Lamb and 4 oz. of High Glo right now. They are growing really well - almost 1# per day, but they seem to have stalled out a little in their skeletal growth the last couple of weeks. Is there anything that I can add or do to help them get a little larger frame size?
Probiotic is great to give. I know it souinds like alot but that is what it takes SOMETIMES to get the job done right. The thiamine also helps alot.
The best way to aid in frame size is time and/or feeding higher protein. You may want to increase the High glo to 3/4 lb/hd/day and cut that much show lamb feed out. That is what has worked the best for us. Alot of sheep go through stages, if you haven't sheard in a while I would rough shear with 13 tooth clippers. This helps stimulate them to grow as well.
