| I live in south GA and I was wondering where I could get some quality barley to feed my showcalves. Also, what is the best way to feed barley, cooked or uncooked mixed in with the feed? Can barley be cooked in a crockpot? When do I ned to start feeding barlry? My first show is in July and my last show is in February.

We use steam fleked Barley mixed in the ration. We start feeding the Barley in our Show stopper. I have only fed cooked corn and not Barley. In trying to find Barley in your area, I would find the closest feed dealer and have them order it.

What does feeding barley to calves do? I have never herd of that before.

| Barley is used to put on a firm finish. Corn puts on a softer finish.

What is the process for cooking barley or corn for feed? We have a show in about 6 weeks and need to put more finish on our steers.
Thanks,
Tara

We use roasted corn, I have used a crock pot to cook corn and barley in the past and it works very well, it takes alot of time. Also we have a product called shine em up that has the roasted corn and roasted soybeans in it and it is awesome for putting on finish.
