Hello, We have two new boer baby buck kids on the bottle right now unfortunately we lost their mom in delivery of the kids. I was wondering how early we should introduce them to feed and what type of feed do you recommend?

Thank You,

Marcy

We put out our billy the kid feed out for the lambs when they are a week of age. They will nibble on it then and then really get going in a couple weeks.

I have not heard of billy the kid feed. Is it a highnoon feed? My vet also suggested calf mana. Have you used it for newborn goat kids?

Billy the kid is a highnoon product.  Calf manna is a supplement not a complete feed. I personally would not feed it as a complete feed.

Thank you very much for all your advice. I really appreciate it. I went and got the high noon billy the kid perfect start this evening. I have fed it to all of our show weathers for the past three years. I just had not heard it called billy the kid before. We have won reserve grand champion weather 2 out of three years at our fair feeding perfect start. Our fair is Darke County  Fair. It really is a great product.

Thanks Again, Marcy
